CUTC goes to CIO/09: Shift Happens Communitech Conference

Yesterday was Communitech's CIO/09: Shift Happens conference and some of the CUTC team (Scott, Ryan and me) were out there to listen and learn from these technology experts. Some of the highlights included the closing keynote Don Tapscott, author of "Wikinomics" who presented a thoughtful and enlightening talk on the future of technology and where it will take us. Check out his twitter and see if you can spott us - http://twitpic.com/2otzo (hint: look at the center :P).

We also connected again with Eugene Roman who did an excellent job as the opening keynote (I seem to be noticing a trend from his speaking position at CUTC 2009). He mentioned the results of his informal polls from CUTC a few times - apparently only 10% of the delegates this year admitted to owning a blackberry (well that is now 2 more people thanks to Sean Loyd from Ring Wireless who gave them away as prizes for the Unified Communications TechTeam!).

Of course, I can't forget to mention the excellent breakout sessions that I attended by IBM and Cisco. All in all it was an excellent day of listening, learning and meeting some great people! I can't wait for the next Communitech event :)

  1. Don Tapscott, author of Wikinomics, takes a picture of the conference attendees upon asking how many of them are Twitter users:

Jaclyn, Scott, and myself are just barely visable near the center of the room :)

You can follow Don Tapscott's feeds on Twitter @dtapscott

    Cheers,

  3. Thanks for sharing such a good post. I like attending online conferences, especially the cloud computing conferences held online. Recently I attended a online computing conference, hosted online March 23-25, 2009. It is the 2nd Annual Virtual Conference on Cloud Computing. I got a good opportunity to meet and talk with the world's leading experts of Cloud Computing.
